As 2009 comes to a close, I have some exciting things to dish on.
I am pleased to write that I have had a fruitful conversation with a manager who is interested in reading more of my work. I sent her the latest draft of "Homeworld," and received some excellent notes. I also pitched a couple ideas that they were interested in reading once I get a decent draft done. I have two solid weeks booked at Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts in January, 2010 for a hard-driving writing retreat, in which I will revise "Homeworld" and develop these other projects.

One of these "other projects" is going to be a re-imagining of the classic British sci fi series, Space: 1999. I've been wanting to do this for awhile, and with the recent success of Star Trek and BSG, there's no reason why this, too, can't go the distance (if it's done right). Connected to this enthusiasm is my involvement with
Powys Media, a small press that has been and continues to publish original 1999 novels, shorts, and audio books. I'm working for them as a proof reader, and hoping to help market their products. The new releases will be coming out over the next few months, so if you're a 1999 fan, definitely keep checking back.
I have a good feeling about 2010. It's a nice, round number, isn't it? After the last few years of struggle and distraction, it's going to be the year that I make it to the next level.
