Personal Update

I've been writing a lot of spiritual and religiously themed posts, so I thought I'd update some of what's going on with me personally.

I've returned to working on the screenplay that was once called 'Eden.' I have to rename it because some kind of twaddle just came out with the same moniker. I'm doing some heavy Act II restructuring now, which is my least favorite thing about writing a screenplay, but it's going pretty well so far.

I've also not forgotten about the project I'd started researching last year on Mary Magdalene. I'm not sure what I'm doing with that; it's still in a very nascent stage. I was also thinking of looking at other women in Yeshua's ministry and life, but we'll see how the Spirit leads me on that one.

People keep asking me when Black Doves will be released, and unfortunately I have to keep saying the same thing: I don't know. It's in the pipeline at Powys and it'll come out when it's time, I guess.

In other, less exciting news, my phone died over the weekend, taking with it all my contacts. I finally caved and get a smart phone (well, really there was no choice, as the Sprint store conveniently didn't have any non-smart phones 'in stock'). So I have an iPhone, and I'm still getting used to it. So far I've figured out how to text, call, save contacts, set the alarm, take photos and videos and set photos as my background. Which is all I ever wanted to use my phone for anyway, so it's kind of a waste to have such a device. But it was free with my upgrade renewal, at least. Yippee.

I am interviewing for the permanent position at my workplace this afternoon. I'm a bit nervous. I'll do my best, and the rest is up to God.

Speaking of my workplace, we were burglarized on Sunday night. The thief stole 5 computers and a mailbox key. Can you believe it? We caught him on the security cameras, and of course the computers all have serial numbers. The police have all that information, and they'll be dusting for finger prints later today. I work in a crime scene, IOW. Kind of creepy, watching this guy on the security footage. He clearly knew what he was doing, where to go, etc. Ick. But computers are replaceable  as are locks, and the important thing is that no one was in here or got hurt. I'm keeping that guy in my prayers; whoever he is, he's pretty pathetic to steal from a college. He needs help, obviously.

What else can I report? My good friend MP is coming next month from Quebec for a visit, and I'm thrilled about that. Another very dear friend is getting married on Cape Cod in June, so provided that I have a job in place, I'll be going out there for that beautiful event.

Other than that, life carries on. I've been going to Mass daily, and it makes a huge diference. I am so blessed to be living in an age and place where I can freely practice my religion of choice, and that I can go to Mass so frequently. It used to be, once upon a time, that Communion wasn't offered at every Mass. In her autobiography, The Story of a Soul, St. Therese writes how she could only receive the Body of Christ on feast days. So I give thanks that my life can be what it is!
